The Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter is always in need of funds, time, expertise, driveable cars and household items that make it possible for us to help our guests.

MATS is a registered, private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our funding comes entirely from donations from area churches, businesses, service organizations, grants and private citizens like you.

Your contribution of funds, time, expertise or household items make it possible for us to help our guests survive the critical weeks and months until they can reestablish an independent living situation and return to self-sufficiency.

We have an ongoing wish list for donations of a reliable car or gift cards from Ocean State Job Lots, RiteAid, CVS or WalMart.

Together, we can build a community in which everyone finds a home.

A single father has had many ups and downs in his life. After his home burned to the ground, his wife walked out, leaving him to care for their 3 children. They lived temporarily in an old mobile home that became infested with rodents. Local citizens pulled together to renovate the house, and the family came to MATS while the work was being completed. The family moved home just before Christmas.

Drive Change With MATS
You may consider donating a reliable, running vehicle.

The Hope Fund is our latest program to help assist our guests with transportation. Named for long-time volunteer Hope Pettegrew, this fund empowers them with reliable transportation. You can donate a reliable car, or make a donation of funds.
